The 4 preset reports explained
We’ve created 4 preset reports to help you dive straight into meaningful insights. Here’s what each one does and how to make sure data is captured correctly.
1. Custom ID Report – Track your own tags (such as Author ID or Name, your own Product Verticals or Content Categories, Unique ID’s that track back to your User Base, Article ID, etc.) to see how they’re performing across content, placements, or campaigns. Also, use it for A/B testing different variations of your articles.
💡 Use the Custom ID filter in this report to enter a specific Custom ID value and instantly view the revenue and sales it generated.
How to populate this report? Add Custom IDs when creating affiliate links via the Link Generator or Editor Toolbar. Find out more here.
2. Page/Link Report – See which pages and links are driving the most sales and revenue.
How to populate this report? Ensure you have the Skimlinks JavaScript installed on your site. This enables Skimlinks to properly capture the referring page and link data.
3. Traffic Source Report – Understand where your traffic is coming from and which sources lead to sales.
How to populate this report? Distribute your content on different platforms (e.g. newsletters, partner sites, social media)
4. UTM Report – Precisely identify and differentiate the various elements of your marketing efforts to understand what drives traffic and results.
UTM Source: Where the traffic originated (e.g., specific website, social platform).
UTM Campaign: Which specific promotion or initiative the traffic is part of.
UTM Medium: How the traffic arrived (e.g., email, paid search, social media).
UTM Content: Which specific ad or link version within a campaign was clicked.
UTM Term: Which keyword (for paid search) drove the visit.
How to populate this report? Use UTM tags (e.g. utm_campaign, utm_source) when sharing affiliate links. Common in email newsletters or social posts
New Custom ID filter
The new Custom ID filter allows you to quickly isolate performance data for a specific campaign, article, or placement you’ve tagged. Simply enter your own value and view order value, revenue, and sales data.
Create your own custom reports
You have 32 report dimensions to pick from when creating your own custom report. Simply select the dimensions that you’re interested in and click apply. Save your report under any name and it will show up under saved reports moving forwards. Please note, only the report dimensions are saved, and not any date range or filters you have selected for the report.
