Product Search is a tool in the Publisher Hub that lets you search a catalog of monetizable products, compare offers across merchants, and obtain affiliate links – all in one place.
What is Product Search?
Product Search gives you access to the same product data that powers Product Key, Skimlinks' product feed and API, but through a simple search interface in the Hub. No integration work or technical know-how is required.
You can search by product name or keyword and see:
• Product name, image, and description
• Current and original price
• Stock availability
• Merchant(s) offering the product
• Commission rate, EPC, and conversion rate
• Your affiliate link, ready to copy anywhere and use on your site, social platform, or newsletter
Product data refreshes daily from network and direct merchant feeds.
Who is Product Search for?
Product Search is designed for publishers that don't use Product Key.
If you’re a publisher and you already use Product Key's API or Feed to power your site automatically, you may still find Product Search useful. For example, you can quickly research a product before deciding whether to feature it, or to compare merchant offers side by side.
How to use Product Search
1. Open the Product tab in the Publisher Hub. If you operate multiple domains, select the appropriate one from the drop-down menu.
2. Search by product name or keyword. For example, "kettle" or a specific model name.
3. Filter by country to see offers monetizable in your market.
4. View a product’s details by selecting the product and browsing the panel on the right-hand side. This contains the product description, commission rate, EPC, and conversion rate, as well as the affiliate link.
5. Compare merchants. Where more than one merchant offers the same product, we group them together so you can compare price, commission rate, and EPC in one view.
6. Copy the affiliate link and add it to your content, whether that’s on your website, social posts, newsletters or elsewhere.
Key applications
Product Search is useful for a variety of tasks. These include:
- Researching a topic without a specific product in mind. Instead of searching Google and checking whether a product is monetizable, use Product Search directly – every result is already monetizable.
- Comparing merchants for a specific product. See rates, EPC, and pricing across merchants without checking multiple feeds or sites.
- Getting an affiliate link quickly. There’s no need to look up individual merchant programs.
Important notes
Product Search is a research and discovery tool, not an automation tool. Here are a few things to bear in mind.
- It doesn't auto-update your content – Once you copy a product's price or stock info into your content, it stays static. If you want your site to automatically reflect the latest price and availability, you'll need Product Key's API or Feed (assuming this feature is available in your region).
- Data refreshes daily – Data refreshes daily, not in real time. The Product Key API and Feed update more frequently.
-
Coverage depends on the country selected
– You can filter for monetizable products in the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Italy.
