Consistent and accurate metadata is important not only for the Article Report to populate properly, but also for your website’s SEO. Here are a few ways that your article may be incorrectly tagged, and how to fix it:
- You have no tags – Tags should be set up with a tagging service like Opengraph, Microdata or OPG. Then, you need to set tags for your article title, author name and image.
- Your data is tagged inconsistently – If your articles are tagged inconsistently across different pages of your website, you may see some, but not all of your metadata in the Article Report. To fix this, you should update tags for your article title, author name and image so they’re consistent across your site.
- You have changed your tags – If you’ve recently changed your tag conventions, you may no longer see article metadata in the Article Report. This is likely due to tags not being set up correctly. To fix this, you should review your tags and ensure they’re consistent across your site for article title, author name and image.
