The Product Bought Report shows which products your readers have bought after clicking through from your content – even if it’s different to the product you featured. It also shows which pages drove those sales.
The report includes:
- Product name
- Merchant
- SKU
- URLs of the top performing pages that drove the sales for each product
- Quantity bought
- Total order value
- Revenue generated
It’s available in the Skimlinks Hub or via API – read the API documentation here.
How the Product Bought Report works
The Product Bought Report displays information from product sales generated through your content which you can use to:
- See which products are performing best with your audience, so you can promote them further across your website and other channels.
- Track which pages/articles are generating the most sales of specific products, so you can share them more widely, e.g. on social media or your homepage.
- Discover new products your audience is buying after clicking through from your content that you’re not currently featuring.
Why is some product bought data not available?
There are a few reasons why some data might be incomplete or unavailable in the Product Bought Report:
- Unknown product name
Sometimes, product names are not supplied by the merchant or network. In these cases, we display ‘Unknown product name’ in the report and show the rest of the data we have available for that product.
- Unknown SKU
A SKU is a unique code to identify a merchant’s specific product. Sometimes, SKUs are not supplied by the merchant or network. In these cases, we display ‘–’ in the SKU field in the report and show the rest of the data we have available for that product.
- Merchants/Networks not sharing data
The Product Bought Report contains data from the following networks that share product bought data with us:
- Awin
- Avantlink
- CJ
- Commission Factory
- Impact
- Pepperjam
- Partnerize
- Rakuten
- Webgains
- eBay
Some merchants and networks don’t share product bought data and therefore don’t appear in the Product Bought Report.
All information provided in the report is subject to change, alterations and cancellations. Revenue figures may be delayed, depending upon network reporting.
The report should not be used as a commission report, rather as an informative report to understand what types of products are being bought from the networks listed above.
