Installing Skimlinks on a WordPress site

Important note before you begin:

• If you are using the WordPress.com Business plan or WordPress.org and self-hosting your website, Skimlinks can be installed by following the instructions below
• If your website is hosted on the WordPress.com Personal or Premium plan, you cannot use the Skimlinks JavaScript
• We do not recommend using the Skimlinks WordPress plugin.  It does not work with the latest versions of WordPress and we recommend that publishers install our JS  instead

 1. Go to Skimlinks Setup Page and copy your Skimlinks javascript code.

2. Now log in to your WordPress admin page and look for the sidebar option 'Appearance' > 'Editor'.

3. From this page, you can configure individual pages of your WordPress theme. Select the option to edit your ‘Theme Footer (footer.php)’ on the right hand of your screen.

4. Paste your Skimlinks javascript code right before the tag </body> and hit ‘Update File’.
